Abstract

The physiotherapist is a professional with solid scientific background who provides assistance at individual and collective levels and who participates in the prevention of risks and injuries, evaluation, recovery and rehabilitation of health and quality of life, through strategies that involve the promotion and education in health. The aim of this study is to review the practices of Physiotherapy in Health Promotion. Data collection was carried out from 2016 at 2023 and the Latin American and Caribbean Literature databases were used for the research. in Health Sciences (LILACS), Scientific Electronic Library Online (SCIELO) and National Library of Medicine (PUBMED) and GOOGLE (free access site). Several authors point out that health promotion in Physiotherapy is an increasing curve and a fundamental practice to avoid injuries and significantly improve individuals with dysfunctions. From this review, it is clear that due to the knowledge that the physiotherapist acquires in his training, through daily practice and living with patients, it is the duty of the physiotherapist to promote health, in addition to seeking awareness strategies individually and collectively. However, the theme should be further investigated during it’s professional training.
