Abstract
The concept of smart green buildings — based on energy saving and environment protection, combined with smart living technologies — is catching on globally. These buildings have an average lifespan of several decades and lots of energy intensive facilities. As a result, the effect of scientific solutions to energy saving on global carbon reduction can be enormous. This also may create huge market benefits, as most smart green buildings require input from ICTs (information and communication technologies) and construction industries for high-level, cross-sector integration.
