Abstract

India has ranked recently in Environment and climate change performance index as 177 th among the countries. India had been lagging behind in the establishment of many pollution controlling act and its now high times that the act needs to be enacted. The greater the increase in population major is the increase in solid waste. The waste classified tremendous harmful is construction & demolition waste and ceramic waste. In this research the utilization of ceramic waste and its application is guided in concreting as a Recycled ceramic waste aggregate (CWA) with partial replacement of Natural aggregate (NA). The properties of Recycled Ceramic Waste Aggregate concrete (CWAC) is evaluated based on various tests as per IS, CPCB (Central Pollution Control Board, India) and GPCB (Gujarat Pollution Control Board, India) guidelines. The fresh and hardened properties of CWAC investigated and eventually it has been found that 30% replacement of NA with CWA do not affect more to the strength of concrete. Also the effect of Metakaolin (MK) as a supplementary cementitious material (SCM) studied and found that it helps to enhance the mechanical properties of CWAC.
