Abstract

We present the tunable graphene based complimentary hexagonal circular array absorber for far infrared frequency range. Proposed absorber structure is analysed for different chemical potentials of graphene. Absorber structure is also analysed and compared in terms of their absorption, transmittance, reflectance and phase variation. Modulation depth of the absorption is achieved 85% for 0.5eV graphene chemical potential. Maximum bandwidth of 4.55 THz is achieved for 250 μm small hexagon circular radius. It is also observed that bandwidth of the operation is increased with higher chemical potential. The proposed tunable absorber can be used for the various applications like THz sensor, absorber, modulator and polarizer over far infrared frequency.
