Abstract

This work reports the possibility of using graphene based polymer nanocomposites for strain sensing applications. The Graphene-PVDF composite films were characterized using techniques like Scanning Electron Microscope, X-ray Diffraction and Raman analysis. Dielectric studies were carried out to check the conductivity of the nanocomposite film as a function of different weight percentage of graphene. The output voltage variation in Graphene-PVDF based films, as a function of strain, were correlated with digital image correlation (DIC) technique.
