Abstract
Because of the skeletal resistance to PTH, it is still hard to assess bone turnover by serum PTH level alone in uremia. Furthermore, several questions have been raised against the accuracy of intact PTH assay. Final goal of the control of PTH secretion is to maintain normal bone metabolism. For the evaluation of bone, improvement of bone structure needs to be checked as well as that of serum bone metabolic marker and bone mineral density.
