Abstract
The purpose of this article is to analyze school management in a democratic perspective based on legal systems and literature, with a qualitative methodological approach, focusing on bibliographical and documentary research. The observance of the national legislation was of great value for the construction of this investigation, because it presents us how the norms of the Brazilian education are traced in the course of the national history, mainly after the military dictatorship and a process of redemocratization of the country in which the democratic management is prescribed since the Federal Constitution, regulated in the Law of Guidelines and Bases of National Education (LDBEN) no 9.394 / 96 and in the National Plan of Education (2014-2024). The interlocution of the documentary research with the bibliographical research presents us the democratic school management by authors who research and study the subject. School management was the focus of our analysis, showing that management plays an important role within the school units in search of a democratization of education and school through the participation of all actors in collegiate and collective construction of the Political Project -Pedagogical.
