Abstract
Genetic engineering in agriculture is the application of genetics with the goal of enhancing animal and plant productivity. Today many workers are attempting to exploit the sophisticated technology of molecular biology for applications in the world of agriculture. For example, the principles of molecular genetics have led to advances in the area of biological nitrogen fixation. Now, a variety of other systems playing crucial roles in agricultural productivity are under intensive study or are being eyed for future work.
