Abstract

The article considers the history of geobotanical mappings of the Askanian steppe in the XX‒XXI centuries and a consolidated geobotanical map of the vegetation of the natural core, with an area of 11054 ha, compiled on the basis of materials of previous separate surveys of virgin lands and fallows. This map at a scale of 1:25000 with a legend illustrates the general structure and spatial distribution of xeromorphic plakor- zonal and mesomorphic intrazonal formations of steppe vegetation, characterizes the state of its preservation and is the logical result of the stage of total geobotanical survey of the natural core of the Biosphere Reserve "Askania Nova".
