Abstract

This chapter demonstrates significant gender gaps continue to exist within business schools themselves, especially at the key levels of dean, academic department chair, full professor, tenured faculty and doctoral students in several key business fields. It explores the trends and status of women in management education, specifically focusing on business school deans, academic department chairs, faculty and students. The chapter also explores the changing environment in which business schools operate. It concludes with recommendations for raising the profile of gender issues and improving gender equality in business schools.
