Abstract

We report on an explicit calculation of the next-to-leading order correction to the ladder approximation to the Dyson-Schwinger equation for a (techni-)fermion self-energy in a general covariant gauge. The resulting integral equation is solved numerically and used to estimate the fermion condensate 〈 ψψ〉 and the technipion decay constant F π . Our analysis shows that whereas F π is only moderately sensitive to the gauge parameter, the strong gauge dependence of 〈 ψψ〉 found in the ladder approximation is not diminished by these higher-order corrections.
