Abstract

Based on high-frequency switching control actions, variable structure control (VSC) can strengthen the robustness against external disturbances and system parameter uncertainties. The performance of VSC is influenced by boundary layer width tuning. Integrating fuzzy logic technology into VSC may attenuate the chattering as well as guarantee the steady-state per€ormance. In the paper, A BLW tuning rate based on steady state error is designed based on fuzzy logic inference. A fuzzy variable structure control is proposed and applied to a hydraulic servo system. The simulation experiment results verify the effectiveness of the proposed control as to both the chattering reduction and control accuracy. The merits of both fuzzy control and VSC are well combined.
