Abstract
This edited book by Elisabetta Bergamini and Chiara Ragni covers a crucial theme—the implementation of children’s rights and interests in the EU in cross-border situations. Over the course of 16 chapters, highly important topics are covered which demonstrate the current rate of international movement of families, and the accompanying internationalisation of child and family law. Stalford noted in her seminal work ‘Children and the European Union: rights, welfare and accountability’ how the EU has experienced changes to its constitutional, legal, and institutional landscape over the years, and how this has generated new opportunities to engage with a broad range of social and rights related issues relating to children.1 The primary focus of the book—the protection of children in cross-border situations—is therefore a particularly worthy area for examination.
