Abstract

The front cover picture illustrates chiral iron catalysts featuring tetrahedral and octahedral stereocenters, which are reviewed in the accompanying article for their use in enantioselective organic transformations. The configurational stability of these complexes can be achieved by multidentate ligands in octahedral complexes and cyclopentadienyl anions in tetrahedral structures. These key geometrical features are recalled here by the graphical representations of a piano stool and of a three-blade propeller, while the Fe symbol at the core of the illustration highlights the fundamental role of the configuration of the metal center. Details can be found in the Review by Piarulli and co-workers (G. M. Fusi, S. Gazzola, U. Piarulli, Adv. Synth. Catal. 2022, 364, 696–714; DOI: 10.1002/adsc.202100995).
