Abstract

The Front Cover shows the design of a ceria catalysts for low-temperature CO oxidation. In their Review, Jeong Woo Han and co-workers review doping and loading systems are suggested as strategies for improving the CO oxidation activity of CeO2 catalysts. Transition metal (TM) and rare-earth metal (RE) dopants dramatically improve the activity and stability of the CeO2 catalysts. Besides, the origin of the activity due to the metal-support interaction is clearly presented. Based on experimental and theoretical approaches, metal supported on (RE, TM) co-doped CeO2 is expected to benefit environment by suppressing the vehicular emission of CO at low temperature. More information can be found in the Review by Hyung Jun Kim, Myeong Gon Jang et al. on page 11 in Issue 1, 2020 (DOI: 10.1002/cctc.201901787).
