Abstract

The article tells about the history of embroidery art «white on white» in the Poltava region, the work of specialized artisans, cooperatives and factories. Unrepeatable technical features of embroidery, artistic and expressive means of ornamental compositions are revealed. About how embroidery with «ball» was reflected in Ukrainian folk songs. The creativity of the embroiderers who worked in the Reshetyliv region gained general recognition, and the modern carriers of the «white on white» embroidery technology are also discussed. In her work, the craftswomen use traditional techniques and modern motifs, refer to folk sources, emphasizing that even now «white on white» embroidery has not lost its relevance.Emphasis is placed on the issue of the continuation of the tradition by young craftsmen and ways to solve it, which involves the implementation of measures to protect embroidery. Implementation of additional measures for the protection and popularization of Reshetiliv embroidery – its transmission to future generations is emphasized.
