Abstract

The research interests within the Optics Section of Imperial College are diverse, from laser physics, ultrashort light pulses, uv lasers and nonlinear optics to lens design, optical instrumentation, image processing, electron optics, holography and coherent optics. A specific example is the project in which transparencies of LANDSAT pictures in four wavebands are scanned with a flying spot scanner and the resulting video signals are mixed to produce a false colour composite.
