Abstract

What are the origins of the cultural revolution that took place in the Seventies? How was its soundtrack, rock and roll, born? These social phenomena can only be enlightened and comprehended when we consider the incredible contribution that the African American community gave to the postbellic American cultural hegemony, a contribution which is often overlooked. This article’s intent is to show the continuity between the African American experience and that of «the Movement», following the path traced by blues music.
