Abstract
Denna essä ger perspektiv på hur fritidshemmet som utbildningsinstitution och fritidspedagogisk undervisning kan kopplas till begreppet måluppfyllelse. Kritiska perspektiv på sådana kopplingar synliggörs i essän, följt av en analys av villkor som ändå framhåller fritidshemmets potential i detta avseende. Genom att förädla fritidshemmets särart, och tydligt relatera denna utbildningsform till olika mål, kan potential synliggöras som annars riskerar att negligeras. English abstract Contribution of School Age Educare to Student Achievement: An Unconventional Pairing or a Taking-for-Granted Assumption? This essay examines the relationship between the school-age educare (SAEC), its education and the concept of goal attainment. Critical perspectives on these relations are addressed, followed by an analysis of the conditions that highlight SAEC’s potential in this context. By refining the characteristics of the SAEC and aligning them more explicitly with educational goals, potential that might otherwise be overlooked can be brought to light.
