Abstract
We consider an extensible beam equation with Dirichlet boundary conditions. The object is to show the Fréchet differentiability of nonlinear solution map from a bilinear control input to the solution of the beam equation. We used this method to formulate the minimax optimal control problem. We also show the existence of optimal pairs and find their necessary optimality conditions.
