It includes essays by various scholars who examine and explore topics related to the objects on display in the museum, from porcelain (Caterina) to sculpture (Visconti), from funerary art (Montella) to painting (Macri) and calligraphy (Amitrano). The Chinese section is enriched by a unique specimen, a large map of China made by Matteo Ripa and kept at the Orientale since the foundation of the Collegio dei Cinesi (Muzzupappa).
