Abstract

The chapter is containing various frameworks used for the analysis of IT solutions in organizations. First of them is Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), second of them is Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT). Based on that it is concluded that there is an apparent need for a new framework, comprehensively evaluating all aspects of IT solutions use in organization (not only those directly related to user—IT solution relation) and allowing for the analysis of IT—business alignment as factor potentially even more important than acceptance in the light of IT solutions ability to generate value for organization. Therefore, the main part of the chapter describes the new framework for the analysis of IT solutions in organizations—IT reliability (understood as measurable property of IT solutions, useful for their control and management, identifying their quality level and pointing out potential problems), which consists of four components: system reliability, usage reliability, information reliability and support service reliability. It also describes the process of development and verification of the proposed framework in different business contexts (using correlation, regression and multidimensional correspondence analysis) and validation of its use for the analysis of IT solutions in organization.
