Abstract
A novel compact UWB fractal patch antenna with omnidirectional pattern is proposed in this paper. The proposed antenna has a rectangle slot on the trapezoidal ground plane and seven triangles slotted on a partial circular patch as radiating element for impedance match and omnidirectional pattern. This fractal UWB antenna is simulated by HFSS. The antenna has the operating bandwidths (VSWR<2) over the frequency band between 4.6–20.4 GHz. The proposed compact antenna is fabricated and the simulation results are validated by measurements. This compact antenna is easy to fabricate and may be very useful for wideband wireless communication.
