Abstract
Subject and object loom as important concepts organizing Jack Amariglio’s life. His intellectual work has been spent unsettling, theorizing, and exploring subjectivity in antiessentialist ways. This essay touches on some of those theoretical contributions and on objects of craft and labor of which he has encyclopedic knowledge and a set of impressive collections. The essay thus comprises two threads on subject and two threads on object, each thread organized around an artifact.
