Abstract

Profound social and economic transformations in modern society make us think about the future of our country, its youth. The article highlights the issues related to the formation of moral choices in solving problems by junior students. Moral education is always appreciated by people. The article describes the stages of educational activities: diagnostic stage (outlines specific methods which reveal understanding by children of the essence of moral concepts) and conceptual (pithy) stage which includes ethical conversations (relevant topics are suggested). As an example, one of such conversations for children at the age of 8-9 is described (on the theme «About Indifference and Kindness"). It is concluded that a school, solving the problems of education, must rely on rational and moral principles, help all junior pupils to determine value-based orientations in their life, develop their sense of responsibility for preservation of the moral foundations of society. For children, school is that adaptive environment and moral atmosphere, which will determine their value orientations. Therefore, it is important that the moral educational system can interact with all components of school life: lessons, breaks, extracurricular activities, thus enhancing moral principles in the life of children.
