Abstract

The article reveals the content of selective educational components offered to the students of the Faculty of Primary Education, in the process of studying which the formation of information competence in future primary school teachers is taken place. Positive changes that are predicted in the professional knowledge, skills, and abilities of future primary school teachers regarding media education, media culture, and network technologies are described. The content of legislative documents on information, the concept of information security, information warfare, etc., is revealed in the article. In our study, the concept of information competence is considered as the studentʼs ability to work with information. In the rapidly changing flow of information, the future teacher must have not only the ability to find information but also qualitatively analyze it, synthesize, compare, structure, and teach these abilities to their students, help them adapt to the educational environment, implement the developmental function of learning in information and communication school environment. The article examines the level of formation of information competence of students of 2nd and 4th year in specialty 013 “Primary Education”. The levels of information competence formation in future primary school teachers, such as primary, secondary and high, are described.
