Abstract
The article examines the problem of environmental education of the younger generation, in particular, focuses on the importance of the formation of the environmental culture of younger schoolchildren, and reviews scientific research on the issues of environmental culture of the individual and the features of its formation at the younger school age. It is noted that the formation of the ecological culture of younger schoolchildren can take place through the study of educational material of the technological educational field, in particular, ecologically oriented content. The author examines the importance of using secondary materials for the manufacture of products in design and technology classes, offers the topic of environmental projects aimed at increasing students' environmental awareness and their desire to protect the environment. The article offers topics of practical works that help students better understand the impact of their actions on nature and educate them in a responsible attitude towards the environment. The author provides recommendations to teachers on the use of effective teaching methods aimed at forming the ecological culture of junior high school students in design and technology lessons.
