Abstract
The article analyzes the activities of the Orthodox services of mercy in two countries, Russia (on the example of the Altai Territory) and the Republic of Kazakhstan. Of particular importance at present is volunteering, which has an impact on the spiritual values of society. In this regard, the study of those social institutions and forms of charity, volunteerism that have been engaged in it for a long time is of particular relevance. Such institutions are communities of sisters of mercy. The article discusses in detail the main directions of the organization of Orthodox services of mercy in the Altai Territory and the Republic of Kazakhstan. To identify the main directions of the organization of Orthodox services of mercy in these subjects, a content analysis of Internet resources was carried out. Analysis of the results of the study revealed that the sisterhood and brotherhood of mercy, the humanitarian National Societies of the Red Cross and Red Crescent coordinate and assist in the work of church social initiatives in the Altai Territory and Kazakhstan. Mercy services are actively developing, effective methods of helping those in need have been developed and implemented.
