Abstract

This issue of Trends in Urology, Gynaecology and Sexual Health is the last for the journal in its current format. In the autumn, we will be launching Trends in Urology and Men's Health. The new journal will continue to provide high-quality articles from leading specialists in the areas of prostate disease, erectile dysfunction, incontinence and genitourinary medicine. In addition, it will broaden its remit into other areas that affect men's health, including cardiovascular disease and diabetes. Men die earlier than women, they consult their GP less often and generally pay less attention to their health. There are no national screening programmes for men and no regular consultations driven by family planning or pregnancy. As a result, opportunities for healthcare professionals to intervene and support men's health are more limited. Trends in Urology and Men's Health will help you to narrow the gap between men's and women's health, and help you to support your male patients in taking better care of themselves. The new journal will be published in collaboration with the British Journal of Urology International (BJUI) and edited by Professor John Fitzpatrick and Professor Roger Kirby, supported by a board of leading opinion formers from primary and secondary care. The multidisciplinary focus of Trends has always been one of its strengths, and this will continue with Trends in Urology and Men's Health. Urologists and urology nurses will automatically receive the new journal. For our GP readers in primary care, we are asking you to fill out the form in this journal or register at www.tugsh.com to ensure you receive copies of the new journal.
