Abstract

Researches demonstrate that overload, emotional exhaustion, precarious work conditions and lack of professional realization affect the workers’ QOL. The present study aimed to study the relationships between the managers' QOF and the factors preponderant to the development of Burnout Syndrome related to the work context in the socio-educational system of the Distrito Federal, Brazil. Of the participants, 103 accessed the research and 48 of them finished all the three questionnaires (Likert Scale items) which assessed beyond the sociodemografic profile related with the managers’ position hierarchical; emotional exhaustion, despersonalization and personal accomplishment correlated to Burnout level; physical and mental health linked to QOL; and demand, control and support levels linked to job context. Of the 48 participants, 29.17% of them presented moderate and high level of Burnout, highlighting the high emotional exhaustion level. It was also verified that the higher the control of the institution lower the managers' mental health level.
