Abstract

Pyrolysis of solutions with inorganic components in a hydrogen/oxygen flame is a conventional route to obtain well defined powders with high specific surface. Its advantage is the variation of the specific surface of the powders with the experimental conditions. This letter aims to demonstrate that flame pyrolysis is an appropriate method to prepare ultrafine powders of ternary oxides using β-SrMnO 3 and NiMn 2 O 4 as examples.
