Abstract

The aim — to analyze the peculiarities of the training of intern doctors in the specialty «General practice-family medicine» at the Department of Therapy with the Course of General Practice and Family Medicine (GPFM) of the faculty of postgraduate education of the National Pirogov-Medical University, Vinnytsia.Material and methods. Analysis of the indicators and methods of pedagogical work of the Department of Therapy with the course of GPFM of the faculty of postgraduate education. Results. The Department of Therapy with the course of GPFM of the faculty of postgraduate education of the National Pirogov Medical University, Vinnytsya has been engaged in the training of doctors in the field of "General practice-family medicine" since 1998. During this time, about 350 young specialists have been trained. The educational process at the department provides for lectures, practical, seminars with іnterns, as well as independent extracurricular work. Lecture classes are conducted using modern multimedia, visual materials, as well as elements of discussion of specific clinical situations (so-called «brainstorming» method). Practical classes take place directly at the centers of primary health care (CPHC). Seminars are aimed conglomeration of theoretical knowledge and practical skills of young doctors, formation of interns' ability to apply their theoretical knowledge in accordance with the clinical situation. Much attention is paid to independent extracurricular work of young specialists with sources of information, bases of test and clinical tasks, independent work with patients during the supervision and alternation in the CPHC. The teaching staff of the department is constantly working on introducing new modern teaching methods, updating the material and technical base and educational material. In general, it should be noted that the educational process at the Department of Therapy with the course of GPFM of the faculty of postgraduate education is constantly improved in accordance with current conditions and aims to maximize the adaptation of young professionals to further work in the CPHC. Conclusions. 1. The training of doctors in the field of «General practice-family medicine» requires a differentiated approach, taking into account the specifics of the work in the CPHC. 2. Ensuring a high level of training of family doctors at the departments of postgraduate education requires the introduction of new pedagogical techniques.
