Abstract
The content of the article draws attention to the problem of children's talent. Despite considerable experience with gifted children there is no single approach to the definition of the very concept of «giftedness». Based on the analysis of literature the authors identified and characterized the types of giftedness of children. The National Doctrine of Education Development of Ukraine states that it is the education system that should provide support for gifted children and youth, develop their creative abilities, creating conditions for the formation of self-education skills and self-realization of the individual. Based on this it was established that the construction of a system for the work of a teaching staff with gifted students in an institution of general education is an urgent issue. It is who needs to take into account the features of the education institution; comply with modern pedagogical concepts, to introduce the basic principles of personality-oriented learning and education; to promote the development of the creative personality of the student, his self-education and self-development, to ensure the maximum disclosure of the individual abilities of the students. To build an effective system of work of the teaching staff with gifted students in GEI it is necessary to observe certain stages, namely: the stage of identifying gifted children; stage of diagnosis: individual assessment of the creative potential and characteristics of the child by a psychologist and teachers; stage at which the main role should be performed by teachers whose task is the formation and deepening of children's abilities, the disclosure of nature and psychological mechanisms of the creative child. Revealing the features of working with gifted children it was found that the administration of the institution assigns an important role for creating a system for working with gifted children to the implementation of the Program-Target Project (PTP) «Management of the development of giftedness in GEI». Successful implementation of the PTP program is possible if the principles of science are observed; purposefulness; sequences; availability; coordination and coherence of actions of all project participants at all stages of its implementation; collegiality - participation of project performers in planning, organizing and controlling the introduction of innovations, joint decision-making; controllability. The purposes of the Program-Target Project (PTP) «Management of the development of giftedness in GEI» are the development of intellectual, creative abilities of children; creation of favorable conditions for self-realization of the student's personality; providing high-quality psychological and pedagogical support, diagnostics of gifted students, determining the features of their giftedness; improving the quality of student training in relation to the standards of basic general and secondary education; improving the effectiveness of Olympiads, competitions, tournaments, research works of students, members of the LAS; creating conditions for early profiling of students; increasing the level of competence and pedagogical skills of teachers.
