Abstract

The interaction of dry cellulose with H 2O liquid and vapour phases has been investigated by calorimetry and infrared. It is shown that there are two stages in the interaction of cellulose with water — the endothermic stage, that is the more rapid and less energy-intensive one, and the exothermic stage which affects the total heat effect.
