Abstract
In this paper, a fault detection and faulty phase identification technique is proposed for the protection of series capacitor compensated three phase transmission line connected with wind energy source using Hilbert-huang transform. The proposed scheme makes use of single end measured fault current data. The proposed scheme has been tested for various cases of faults with varying different fault parameters like fault type, fault location, fault resistance, fault inception time and ground resistance. The test results validate the accuracy and usefulness of proposed scheme.
