Abstract

At present, the bus protection of the flexible DC distribution network refers to the AC protection scheme basically, and the existing bus protection methods can not remove the fault quickly and accurately. In order to achieve reliable and fast protection of bus fault in flexible DC distribution system, the fault characteristics of the DC bus in the flexible DC distribution network are analyzed firstly, and then the principle of fault component differential protection is studied, and a fault component differential protection of DC bus in flexible DC distribution network is proposed. The effectiveness of the proposed scheme is verified by PSCAD/EMTDC simulation. The simulation results show that the proposed protection scheme has excellent performance of fast operating and against transition resistance.
