Abstract
The present study seeks to know the factors associated with burnout syndrome among health professionals. An integrative literature review was conducted, and articles retrieved from the Virtual Health Library, Latin American and Caribbean Literature in Health Sciences, Scientific Electronic Library Online and Online System for Search and Analysis of Medical Literature were analyzed based on the descriptors burnout syndrome; health professional and occupational diseases, from the Boolean operators. Burnout syndrome has a significant prevalence among health professionals, associated with individual, economic and institutional conditions. Hospital managers should be aware of these data in order to develop systematic occupational health programs in order to favor the integral health of workers.
