Abstract
Electromagnetic analysis for interconnect structures is formulated by volume-surface integral equations (VSIEs) in integral equation approach. The VSIEs are usually solved by the method of moments (MoM) with the basis functions requiring conforming meshes. We propose a different scheme to discretize the VSIEs by combining the traditional MoM for the SIEs and a point-matching method for the VIEs. For electrically large problems, we incorporate the scheme with the multilevel fast multipole algorithm (MLFMA) to accelerate the solution. A typical numerical example is presented to demonstrate the scheme and its effectiveness has been verified.
