Abstract

Northern Kentucky University's women's basketball team left its fans many legacies besides the sounds of “Fergalicious” filling Regents Hall during the pregame warm-ups: their record 48 wins against 13 losses in the previous two seasons; their two trips to the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Tournament; their Great Lakes Valley Conference championship; the 1,088 career points by Karmen Graham and 1,035 by Karyn Creager; Cassie Brannen's school-record 12 blocks in a game; Brittany Winner's miraculous moments against Drury, Parkside, Bellarmine, and so many more; Katie Butler's being the best sharp-shooter Nancy Winstel ever had off the bench. The five departing seniors had done much to sustain this joy, keeping it alive during some of the toughest trials that a team this talented could have.
