Abstract

W type Aluminum doped Ba-Zn hexaferrite with chemical composition BaAlxZn2Fe16-xO27 (x = 0.0, 0.1, 0.2, 0.3, 0.4) was synthesized using simple heat treatment method. Prepared samples were calcinated at 650° C for 3 hours in a furnace and slowly cooled at room temperature. Structural studies were carried out using X-ray diffractograms (XRD). XRD analysis confirms the formation of mono phase. Crystalline size calculated using Debye Scherrer formula ranges from 20 nm to 50 nm. The dielectric measurements were carried out at room temperature between the frequency range 100 Hz to 2 MHz. The dispersion of real dielectric constant is more at lower frequencies compared to that at higher frequencies, which can very well be explained on the basis of Maxwell Wagner model.
