Abstract
Since the 1930s, India, one of the worldly recognized democratic countries, has been successfully developing its film industry. Nowadays, Indian films, namely Bollywood films, are being watched throughout the world. But this industry has been noticed an aberration from its history of highly acclaimed film creation. Many films are banned in many Muslim countries, and many are taking part in widely controversial talks from internationally recognized film experts. As a national film industry, Bollywood is trying to show the problems existing in the disputed land of Kashmir. Apparently, the films are exploring what is happening in Kashmir and what has already happened there against the Hindu community, but the narrative and visuals of the film are explicitly Islamophobic. Here, the researcher has selected two Kashmir-related films purposively. This study will try to explore both the text and signs of the selected films in the light of critical discourse analysis. How used contents (signs and text) narrative, i.e., storyline are fabricating Islamophobic discourses will be examined critically to prove relationship among text, social condition, ideologies, and power.
