Abstract

Heat transfer measurements were conducted to obtain a detailed heat transfer characteristic on blade surfaces of a two dimensional scale turbine-blade cascade in a low spped wind-tunnel test equipment. The test blade is a typical blade with low aspect ratio and large turning angle. The heat transfer experiments were performed by applying an electric heating method with changing the inlet boundary layer thickness under a heat flux constant. The flow and heat transfer characteristics on blade surfaces are shown, and the effect of inlet boundary layer thickness on heat transfer distributions is clarified.
