Abstract

It has been difficult to simulate airflow in a vending machine because the direction of wind around a propeller fan depends on pressure losses of an airflow path in a vending machine. Moreover since the structure of a vending machine is complicated, simplification of an airflow model is needed for efficient simulation. The characteristics of the airflow against the pressure loss is measured by Stereo PIV. A heat-fluid simulation with a simplified model, in which boundary condition is modified by detected characteristics, shows good agreement with the measured airflow. The optimal heat design of a vending machine can be realized by applying the proposed method.
