Abstract
To ensure braking stability and maximize energy recovery, electric vehicles combine two braking modes, friction and regenerative braking. This paper proposes a novel braking torque distribution (BTD) algorithm between frictional/regenerative brake systems. Security and regeneration energy are the two main issues in braking torque allocation design. Based on the extremum search (ES) technique, the objectives and constraints of the hybrid ABS brake torque distribution are well handled. The offered BTD can maximize the regeneration energy and improve the battery's state of charge (SOC) by optimizing the electric braking system efficiency, while respecting the braking actuators constraints. The validity and effectiveness of the proposed BTD has been demonstrated by simulation in the MATLAB/Simulink environment.
