Abstract
Theoretical considerations show that small external electric fields have an influence on the Γ 8 ( 4E) level of Mn in ZnS, but not on Γ 6 ( 4E) and Γ 7 ( 4E). Experimental results with electric fields up to 20 kV/cm agree with these calculations.
