Abstract

Streaming dust-acoustic instabilities in a weakly non-ideal dusty plasma have been studied considering a new form of the dust state equation. Fluctuating charge effects are not considered in this work. Homogeneous dust-acoustic waves (DAWs) are studied, perturbing the plasma in a very low-frequency regime, where dusty plasmas support new kinds of waves and instabilities due to the dust collective dynamic. In this analysis, a better treatment is introduced in order to find a dispersion relation using a fluid model for the dust by a new Padé-type state equation. Electrons and ions are treated as usual by their Boltzmann factors. In this way, a better and more general form for the dispersion relation appears. An analysis of the instability region is developed, and the ideal and non-ideal effects are compared and discussed in detail.
