Abstract
Objective To explore expression patterns of integrin α6、β1 subunit in the human brain astrocytoma. Methods To examine the expression of integrin α6、β1 subunit in 42 cases of human brain astrocytoma specimens by immunohistochemistry. Results In the human brain astrocytoma specimens, integrin subunit positive staining was localized mainly in the glioma cells and some in blood vessel endothelial cells. The expression of integrin α6 subunit with histological grade were significantly decreased. The expression of integrin β1 subunit with histological grade were significantly increased. Low-level and high-level group showed a significant difference in expression(P ＜ 0.05). Conclusion The expression of integrin α6、 β1 subunit in the human brain astrocytoma control its malignant behavior. Key words: Astrocytoma; Integrin; Immunohistochemistry
