Abstract
ABSTRACT This study explores how microfinance impacts business sustainability in Bangladesh using a qualitative approach. In-depth interviews with 35 purposively selected Microfinance Institution (MFI) borrowers from the Khulna Division provided insights analyzed through thematic analysis. The findings reveal seven themes: employment generation, business growth, income growth, improved living standards, social empowerment, social awareness, and environmental awareness. These themes highlight microfinance’s role in fostering sustainable business practices. This pioneering study offers valuable insights for MFIs and policymakers, emphasizing microfinance as a tool for sustainable development in developing nations.
