Abstract

AbstractWhen cement and water are mixed with sand and coarse aggregate the relating product is called as concrete. Since now portable water is used for mixing different ingredients of concrete. The properties of fresh concrete and hardened concrete for various mixes prepared with magnetic water. This study involves the investigation of influence of magnetic water on the workability and compressive strength of concrete. The magnetized water was prepared using the magnetic treatment system. MW is also used to investigate the reduction in the amount of cement required to achieve specified compressive strengths. The water is initially magnetized with the help of PERMAG N406 is 0.8 T magnet at its inlet pipe. In this study, effect of quartz powder, steel slag and magnetized water on workability, strength and quality of M30 grade concrete was studied. Firstly, cement is replaced with Quartz powder and Steel slag upto 35% individually Cement is replaced with 20% of steel slag as constant and with 15%, 20% and 25% of quartz powder and again 20% of quartz powder as constant and with 15%, 20% and 25% of steel slag were added in concrete to improve its mechanical properties. The test results of this concrete for 28 days and 56 days were compared with normal water with the same proportions of steel slag and quartz powder in concrete as well as conventional concrete.KeywordsMagnetic waterPERMAG N406Quartz powder and steel slag
