Abstract

A method for calculating kinematical variables (multiplicities, average velocity etc.) of light particles sequentially emitted in deep inelastic collisions is described. It applies to experiments in which the light particles are detected in coincidence with one of the two heavy fragments. The method takes into account the emission of light particles by both fragments and the recoil effects due to light particle emission on the angular correlation. The exact Jacobian of the transformation from the laboratory to the c.m. system is calculated. The procedure can be used in an event-by-event analysis.
